Welcome to our jury!

This dashboard is the place you come to when you are trying to decide, "What do I do next?" In general, you will spend most of your time in the "Awards" and "Nominees" sections on the left. Below these instructions are panels that contain your current progress against all judging tasks.

The "Awards" section lists all awards to which you have been assigned as a judge. Every award may have different rules for judging, so read the rules for each award carefully. No matter what the rules for a given award are, you will be tasked with watching each finalist in each award category. Watching runners-up is not required to select a winner (a runner-up is not eligible to win), but it may be necessary if you are making recommendations for further nominations.

The "Nominees" section is a list of all finalists and runners-up in all the categories you are judging. It is often easier to use this panel when judging multiple categories or when you simply have a large number of nominees to watch.

During the judging process, you may take secure notes and save them to the system. Your vote and ratings are shared with festival staff; your notes are NEVER shared with festival staff. In fact, your notes are encrypted in our database so that no prying eyes may ever see them.

This list shows all award categories assigned to you for the current edition of the festival. Click on any award to review your work or to resume the judging process.

Judges
Judging for this award is based on "majority" rules.

Your task is to watch each finalist and pick the nominee who should, in your opinion, win this award. As you review each selection, you can place an interim vote. You can change this vote as many times as you like until you "finalize" the vote. Once you finalize it, you cannot change it.

The winner of this award will be the finalist that receives the most votes from the judges. If the voting results in a tie, the top finalists will be sent to a special judge to break the tie.
Judging for this award is based on "plurality" rules.

Your task is to review each finalist and pick the nominee who should, in your opinion, win this award. As you review each selection, you can place an interim vote. You can change this vote as many times as you like until you "finalize" the vote. Once you finalize it, you cannot change it.

The winner of this award will be the finalist that receives at least one more vote than 50% of the votes. If no selection receives enough votes, the top finalists will be sent to a special judge to break the deadlock.
Judging for this award is based on "unanimous" rules.

Your task is to watch each finalist and pick the nominee who should, in your opinion, win this award. As you review each selection, you can place an interim vote. You can change this vote as many times as you like until you "finalize" the vote. Once you finalize it, you cannot change it.

Winning this award requires agreement among all judges. If all judges cannot agree on a winner, the top finalists will be sent to a special judge who determines the winner.
Judging for this award is based on "average rating" rules.

Your task is to review each finalist and rate them based on the criteria associated with this award. You may alter your rating as often as you want. Once you are certain about your ratings, you can "finalize" them. Once finalized, you cannot change any ratings.

The winner of this award is the most highly rated finalist among the ratings from all judges.
Judging for this award is based on "rubric" rules.

We have identified a set of criteria against which you will rate each finalist. You may alter your ratings as many times as you like until you "finalize" them. Once you finalize the ratings, you can no longer make changes to them. The winner of this award is the finalist with the best weighted score from all judges.

This section enables you to view a full list of all selections you need to review for the festival. Typically, the best way to judge an award is by clicking on the award in the "Awards" area of this portal and working there. The best use of this section is for judges who are on the jury for many different categories with overlapping nominees. It enables you to focus on the list of nominees rather than tediously revisiting each nomination for each new award for which it has been nominated.

My Notes

You have not made any notes. Any notes you add here will be encrypted in our database and available only to you.

My Recommendations

You may recommend this selection and individuals involved with this selection for other awards. If you believe this selection is worthy for consideration for any of the listed categories, click the "Recommend" button and make that recommendation.

My Rating

You may optionally rate this selection so you can track how you felt about it. This rating is not used in any way for scoring and we do not require any rating as part of the voting process. Unlike notes, however, ratings may be reviewed by the staff.

Please rate this selection relative to the other nominees in this category. You should rate the selection based on its worthiness to win this award. For example, a flawed horror selection might receive a better rating in the "Best Horror" category than another, more perfect film simply because the flawed selection is a better horror film.

As finalists for this award, all selections should be worthy of an award. A "5" thus means the selection is "average" among nomination-worthy candidates. A "1" means you question the selections worthiness as a nominee, and a "10" means a grave injustice has been done if the selection does not win.

Pick a Winner

The nominee you select here will serve provisionally as your pick to win this award. You may change your vote at any time until either you finalize your vote or the judging deadline passes.
