Live comedy is fading. Streaming is king. Enter Liz Billings “Belushi”, a delusional 22-year-old, who believes she is the long lost daughter of John Belushi. Liz owns a failing comedy club, previously under the management of crusty LA hippy Sam Frank. Liz attempts to bring business to her dying club with a documentary series. However, Sam is resistant to change, especially from a millennial. He bribes the camera crew with some of his home-grown marijuana to make make the club look terrible. This pilot takes the audience through the first day of filming with frazzled Liz, who spends her time ordering around her unruly employees, ordering around the camera crew, and ultimately accomplishing nothing. Along the way, Sam pays some actors to pretend to rob the bar, each employee gets to advertise themselves poorly, and a mysterious businessman shows up, who may throw the whole place into even further chaos.
